Safe System of Practice
When travelling to or from the training facility
Make sure your training equipment is securely kept and baggage are not left alone particularly when travelling by public transports.
DO NOT take your training equipment out of the bag under any circumstances. If asked by law enforcement officers, you can only comply under home office regulations by showing your training aid to the officers "inside a building or room, but not in public or on public transport".
When travelling in public transport DO NOT talk about your training equipment or describe the training drills, as this can project wrong image and confuse the public.
Avoid the use of following words namely swords, katana, Japanese blade, Shinken, wooden blade, wooden swords …etc. when not in the Dojo. Always refer them as Training Gears, Sports Equipment, Training Aids… etc.
Inform teaching staff if you are likely to be absent for the session.
When in the dojo or training facility
Make sure you wear safe and adequate clothing for your training session.
Remove jewellery and watches and keep them in safe and hidden compartments of your bags.
Clean and check the training area and make sure it is safe for training.
Examine and ensure all training equipments are safe for practice and usage if unsure please show your gears to the teaching or coaching staff,
Make sure you know who the first-aiders are for the session and where the first aid kits are kept.
Warm up adequately and inform the teaching staff regarding existing injuries or health conditions.
During training, if physical or health condition deteriorates, inform a member of the teaching staff immediately.
Avoid inappropriate use of your training equipments.
Rehydrate and consume liquid between and after each training session.
If injured, inform members of the teaching r coaching staff and seek first aid attention immediately.
